How this series is made

I write this series in close collaboration with Claude (Anthropic) - an AI model I work with on every lesson, sentence by sentence. I care about being fully honest about this, so I’m describing it plainly rather than downplaying or hiding it.

The whole pedagogical vision behind this series, my coaching experience, and my instinct for what will actually work for a young player are mine - as is every final decision about what makes it into the book. But many of the sentences, scenes, and phrasings you read were written together: Claude writes, proposes, keeps the whole series consistent across dozens of files at once, and regularly catches things I’d have missed myself. I, in turn, just as regularly correct Claude when something sounds good but doesn’t match how kids actually feel and talk on the pitch - that knowledge isn’t something Claude has from its own experience, only from mine.

The most honest label we found together: Claude is my creative, generative collaborator - something more than a smart text editor, but not a co-author in the full, traditional sense. The final direction, judgment, and responsibility for this book are always mine.

I’d rather be honest about this than pretend I wrote every sentence alone - truth matters more to me than ego, here too.
